Elements Assessment Module Guide

Assessment Module Roles

User
'User' refers to individual academics whose outputs are being reviewed within the exercise. Your UoA may choose to have Users engage with the exercise or, instead, you may choose to have administrative/research management staff engage with the exercise on their behalf. See below for information on impersonating users.

Reviewer
Reviewers are selected by each UoA. The RQI team add Reviewers into the exercise, so please email your list of reviewers to rqi@sussex.ac.uk. This list can be updated at any time. See the Reviewing outputs page for more details.

Unit Manager
Exercise managers have access to the management area of the exercise, where they can view individual and overall exercise progress. They also have access to the Elements assessment module dashboards and CSV reports. See the Managing your exercise and Reporting pages for more details.

Impersonating

Output selection and self-review can be completed by the User (academic) or a member of staff impersonating them. Similarly, reviews can be input by the Reviewer or a member of staff impersonating them.

To impersonate a member of staff, click the Impersonate icon in the top right corner of your Elements homepage (shown below), input the staff member's name and then navigate Elements as normal:

If you do not have access to this area of Elements, email elements@sussex.ac.uk to have your permissions updated.

**Currently, it is not possible for ERAs to be given access to Elements, so administrative staff/UoA leads etc. can input their reviews for them. If you are inputting a review on behalf of an ERA, please indicate this in the review text box.
