Please read our "reading lists in lockdown" page
before engaging with your list this term.

What you can add to a list

What you can add to a list

It is mandatory for Autumn term lists that all essential readings are e-resources only - eBooks, articles, digitisations, videos, webpages, etc; print items cannot be used for essential readings. Please read and follow the guidance below before creating/updating your list this term.

Ensure you have logged in to Talis Aspire via Canvas, located your list, and installed the Talis bookmark button before getting started. You can add any e-resource available in Library Search. See how below.  You can also add online content e-resources, e.g. reports, organisations, Youtube videos, etc. See how below.

Marking item importance

Marking the item's importance

For the Library to make the right purchasing decisions, the online system requires you to tag the importance of each item with one of the following categories below:

  • Essential (1 copy per 10 students, max 20 copies)
  • Recommended (1 copy per 20 students)
  • Suggested student purchase (1 copy)

To set the item's importance, click on "importance not set" and from the drop-down menu select the desired status.

To read the Library's purchasing policy, see Welcome page.
